NITROIMIDAZOLES ELISA Test Kit
The MaxSignal® Nitroimidazoles ELISA Test Kit is a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. Nitroimidazole antibody has been coated in the plate wells. During analysis, sample is added along with the nitroimidazole-horseradish peroxidase (Nitroimidazole-HRP) conjugate. If nitroimidazole residue is present in the sample, it will compete for the nitroimidazole antibody, thereby preventing the Nitroimidazole-HRP from binding to the antibody attached to the well. The resulting color intensity, after addition of the HRP substrate (TMB), has an inverse relationship with the nitroimidazole residue concentration in the sample.
Several derivatives of nitroimidazole constitute the class of nitroimidazole antibiotics used to combat anaerobic bacterial and parasitic infections. The most common examples are metronidazole and dimetridazole. Nitroimidazole antibiotics are banned from the use in food producing animals. Poisoning with nitroimidazole results in infertility and hepatic and renal insufficiency.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
